Bernard L. Truax II returned from the service in 1969. Bernie then began his career of over 45+ years in the construction and development industries.  Bernie began his career at Inland Ryerson Construction, he and his company were part of the construction team that built:

  • Apollo Moon Rocket Launch Tower
  • The Space Shuttle at the Kennedy Space Center & Vandenberg AFB
  • Nuclear Power Plants
  • Conventional Power Plants
  • 747 Hangers
  • Sears Tower
  • World Trade Center
  • Many other major projects around the world

In 1982, Bernie set out on his own and created Truax Development. Over the years, this company expanded to include a real estate company and a construction project management company. In 1995, Bernie and his family transitioned from Orange County to Temecula where they have made a home. He continues to be involved in his community and has a passion for donating his time and energy to the recovery community. He is the Executive Director of the 501 (c) non-profit, Riverside Recovery Resources, which provide alcohol and other drug prevention, intervention, education, and rehabilitation services. He and his wife own A.J.s Amethyst House, a Women's residential treatment & detox center. Bernie looks to bring together buildings, people, and leaders to make tomorrow better for ourselves and future generations.

These commitments were recognized by the “Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce” Citizen of the Year and the “Boy Scouts of America – Tahquitz District” Distinguished Citizen of the Year.

  • Member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of Temecula Valley Central Office of Alcoholics Anonymous, a nonprofit charitable organization;

  • Chairman of Architectural Review Board for La Cresta;
  • Finally, he has been intimately engaged in the community. He directly betters the lives of those around him with a simple motto “BUILD GREAT BUILDINGS." Brick-by-Brick, he continues to create great communities.
